Community Matrons

Co-ordinator:  

The district nurses and community matrons work closely with doctors to provide nursing 
care and advice to the housebound patients with chronic illnesses and those recently 
discharged from hospital.

Treatment Room Nurses

The treatment room nurse deal with wounds and dressings, suture removal, ear syringing and injections. There is also a daily morning service to take blood for blood tests. These services are available by referral from the practice nurse or GP.

Phlebotomy (Blood Tests)

Provided in the Picton Neighbourhood Building

Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 12:00 noon (Excluding Bank Holidays)

Health Visitor Team 0151 295 3317

Co-Ordinator 

Health visitors are qualified in nursing and midwifery and has been specially trained to give health advice on matters relating to family and child health. and children's development. They administer immunisations for children under five and run our weekly baby clinics. In special circumstances, the health visitor may request to visit you in your house. Health visitors can also link you to services within the surgery such as parenthood classes, our postnatal support group, and breastfeeding support. Please enquire at reception.

Midwife Team 

Co-Ordinator: Liverpool Womens' Hospital

A midwife is attached to the practice to assist with the provision of antenatal and postnatal care to patients.

Macmillan Nurses

Our Macmillan Team provide home visits and care for patients with cancer.

Social Services

Patients can directly access Care Line, who are able to provide advice, emergency help and links to Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Home-Help Services. Please contact reception for more details.
